Dear readers,
Thought of sharing a few things about ART.
It is basic information for the benefit of any beginner artist or novice!
Historically, the five main fine arts were painting, sculpture, architecture, music, and poetry, with performing arts including theatre and dance.
Fine Arts is a form of art which deals with the aesthetic value.
In contemporary times fine arts commonly includes additional modern forms, such as film, photography, video production/editing, design, and conceptual art. Fine Arts is the broader term for all these forms of art.
Visual Arts is a branch of Fine Arts. It deals with the work which is actually visual in nature such as ceramics, painting, drawing, printmaking, design, crafts, photography, film making, and graphics. Even Architecture is a form of visual art as it deals with visuals of man-made structures. Design is also a part of visual arts which includes applied arts such as Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design and more.
Thus, ART is generally understood as any activity or product done by people with a communicative or aesthetic purpose—something that expresses an idea, an emotion or, more generally, a world view. It is a component of culture, reflecting economic and social substrates in its design.
Art is a diverse range of human activities involving the creation of visual, auditory or performing artworks, which expresses the creator's imagination, conceptual ideas, or technical skill, intended to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.
Study of art
Proceeding in a systematic way to learn visual art as an artist/painter/draughtsman/sketcher, one must keep in mind the following:
* Learning Fundamental Theory for Technical Knowledge of an artist.
* Practice and Experimentation- Application of Knowledge helps develops technical skill, develops muscle memory. It develops the coordination between eye, hand and brain to work harmoniously.
* Observation- It develops with conscious effort. It's the training to develop the artistic eye to see the details, character of the subject, and implementation of it in the artworks.
* Learning of different media- Once we gain the theoretical knowledge and implementing it using graphite media, one can proceed to learn different media such as charcoal, pastels, colour pencils, watercolour, oil, acrylic, to name a few.
Each of these media has it's own nature and behaviour. It needs quite some time to get used to it and produce some artwork with ease.
It depends on the particular artist which media attracts him/ her visually and for practice. Also depends on, in which media they prefer to work with. More experience comes with persevering in the field of art.
* Invention of ideas, concepts and techniques required to further your skills with creative new concepts in artworks. Having imagination is an additional boon for any artist. It helps to create new things, helps invent new ideas. This is the contributive aspect of an artist to the society, i believe.
Inspirations
Over the years, many artists have become a source of inspiration for their exemplary work. Try looking up some of their artwork to get an idea of their artistic genius.
